YONGWOON PARK (CEO)
Mr. Yongwoon Park, the founder of JUNGRIM, has worked for Hyundai Heavy Industries for many years. During his time, Mr. Park designed and supervised the construction of Power & Desalination plants in the Middle East. Mr. Park produced detailed designs of the plants based on the preliminary designs provided by a professional French engineering firm. Mr. Park also supervised the scheduling and construction of the plants.
After retiring, Mr. Park founded JUNGRIM INDUSTRY CO., the forerunner of JUNGRIM ENVITEC CO., LTD. Around this time, there was an incident where wastewater containing phenol was discharged into Nakdong river. As a result the environmental laws were strengthened. And wastewater and sludge were not able to be treated with biological technology available at the time. To solve this problem, Mr. Park, in cooperation with Korea Institute Of Science and Technology(KIST), succeeded in developing a vacuum evaporator which can treat wastewater effectively by applying desalination technique which incorporated physical and biological methods. The vacuum evaporator was registered and incorporated into the environmental regulation, this enabled small waste management enterprises to operate without having a wastewater disposal facility on site. As a result, the 60 companies across the country were able to run their business. In recognition for his contribution, Mr. Park received an award for industry advancement.
After IMF management period in Korea, Mr. Park became the vice-president of Taegwang Heavy Industry. He successfully designed and supervised the construction of food waste recycling plant in Gwangju, Korea until it was completed. Later, In Saudi Arabia, Mr. Park established an independent corporation & factory for overseas constructions. After that, the need for environmental facilities and desalination plants has increased due to environmental change in Korea. For pioneering this new type of plant in Korea, Mr. Park started a new company called JUNGRIM ENVITEC CO., LTD. And Mr. Park has dedicated himself to constructions of Power & Desalination plants.
